Apartment Review for Sfrent.Net - San Francisco, CA

I just read through many of these reviews and recognize many as being some employees of sfrent or people who never moved into one of their buildings. I question the ‘positive’ reviews from these people. My experience and many of my neighbors have been very bad dealing with management. The management is HORRIBLE. They are inconsistent and HIGHLY unprofessional. Their head of operations is inexperienced and customer service skills are non-existent. Below are a few items any potential rent would want to know: They DO NOT HONOR transfer requests – I put in for a transfer request and it has been summarily ignored. I pay hundreds of dollars over market as local rent rate have dropped, so I put in a transfer request to a different 2 bedroom which is listed for $300 less and they sent me an email saying they received it- then nothing! They DISCRIMINATE – they do not treat all renters equally – although I have put in for rent reduction and transfer requests, they ignore me – however they offered a reduction to one of my neighbors and transferred another neighbor only after she pointed out that they appear to discriminate against single women. They WITHDRAWL FUNDS WITHOUT PERMISSION or NOTICE – I personally know of two tenants who have had funds withdrawn without permission or notice causing their accounts to receive NSF charges. I could go on and on about their management team, but it essentially all of the same cord – the building staff is great, but the people who affect your bank account are unprofessional, incommunicative. However, I will note my resident manager is great, Terry at my building in Lake Merritt is terrific and the maintenance employees for this site are excellent.
